Many thanks to all who supported Oundle Bowling Club on their Open days and Charity Match last weekend. Our recruitment day on the Saturday was busy with many visitors taking the opportunity to try lawn bowling. Our Coaches David Walker & Molly Bostock are now providing additional sessions for those who are interested in taking up membership.
The Charity match on the Sunday on a glorious Sunday afternoon was attended with many spectators and seven teams from local organisations, including our friends from Disability Bowls England. OBC put up five teams in this ’round robin’ competition of 15 ends. The winners this year, were the team from the Ship Inn with 15 shots, closely followed by Disability Bowls England A team, with 14 shots (after a handicap deduction of 12 shots). Rhys Taylor of DBE won a bottle of bubbly in the spider competition.
The Chairman , David Walker was pleased to receive, on behalf of the Club, a certificate from Lee Smith of DBE confirming Oundle Bowling Club’s Disability Bowls England ‘Mark’ award.
