OBC member George Backhurst recently celebrated his 80th Birthday. As a birthday present, his four daughters bought him a sky dive experience at a local airfield. He suffers from a debilitating condition called Myasthenia Gravis and decided that this was a great opportunity to get sponsorship for Myaware, the charity which helps and supports people with this condition.
So having receiving the OK from his GP, George (pictured above), made his leap and after an enjoyable few minutes landed safely. He said ” I wasn’t at all nervous and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience”.
So far George has raised over £1600.00 for the charity and thanks everyone for their support. If you would like to donate, the web site Just Giving page is still open.
