Members of East Northamptonshire Council visited our Club on Thursday last to view progress of our clubhouse extensions and refurbishment. Our visitors were hosted by members of OBC Management Committee and enjoyed tea and biscuits while the club chairman explained the details of the ongoing works.
All of our visitors expressed their approval of the works taking place. Lucy Hawes commented that the completed building with it’s additional space, will be a valuable asset to the community and looked forward to returning for the official opening ceremony.
ENC through their Community Facilities Fund provided a grant of £50,000 towards the cost of the project. This amount is being matched by a similar amount by Sport England which is supported by the National Lottery.
The ENC delegation consisted of:- Stephen North Leader of the Council, Lucy Hawes Community Partnership Officer and Fund Manager, Phil Stearn Councillor for Oundle and Rupert Reichold Councillor for Oundle and surrounding villages.
The Committee was presented with a plaque by ENC as a visual confirmation of their support for the project.
